About Us
At Born To Fry, we bring the bold and authentic flavors of Central America to Cedar Rapids, IA. Since 2022, we’ve been serving up crispy fried chicken, mouthwatering tacos, traditional tamales, and a variety of Latin-inspired dishes made with fresh ingredients and authentic recipes. Whether you're dining in, grabbing takeout, or planning a special event, our team is here to deliver delicious food with unbeatable flavor. Our Story
Owner Jacinto Corio Lopez has worked in the food industry with Hy-Vee for 15 years and all that experience gave him the confidence and know-how to start his own restaurant. Jacinto wanted to bring the unique tastes and flavors of Central America to the Cedar Rapids community. Born To Fry opened its doors in 2022 and has been serving delicious Latin cuisine to its faithful customers ever since.
The biggest item on our impressive and expansive menu is our Latin tacos, including lengua, cabeza, pollo, and asada. We are primarily a Central American restaurant, but we offer more than just Latin cuisine. Our other specialty is fried chicken, which we offer in addition to hot wings, tamales, chuchitos, and atole de elote. We have a wide variety of high quality food and we’re planning to add even more options to our menu.
Our dedicated staff is available and willing to cater all your special events, including birthdays, graduations, weddings, baby showers, corporate events, and more. We will help you make a good impression on your loved ones with our delicious food and your event will surely be one to remember! In addition to dining in our warm and inviting restaurant, we also offer delivery and to-go orders for our customers that prefer to eat their meals at home.

Ordered an $11.50 Quesadilla. Chicken was juicy and tender. This quesadilla had chicken, queso, mushrooms, onions, and peppers sautéed and mixed in. Add the spicy salsa verde and it was a well-rounded quesadilla. Will be back for Street tacos and more juicy flavors of Central America!!
